synopsis
a lonely island light house.......
stranded light house mechanic....
stormy seas...................
turbulent mind.........

a" possessed" wireless and a fear evoking stranger. forms the crux of the feature film dejavu.eventhough the film has shades of film noir and psychological thriller it is a maverick and nonconformist film

the film has only two characters, both played by British actors: paddy Fletcher and Simon bins. the script writer, costume designer, casting director and production designer are from U.K shot entirely with hand held camera, dejavu deals with the psychology of loneliness and fear.

the surreal atmosphere of the film is accentuated by the chiaroscuro lighting, whispering waves, moaning wind and a" possessed" wireless which babbles incoherently. the film is told from the point of view of the stranded light house mechanic who is in the verge of nervous break down, his fear, trepidation, and panic is enhanced through the unconventional editing and DTS sound designing.

production company
dejavu is produced by the renowned editor from India, sreekar prasad and an NRI said alavi under the banner of film freaks. even though the film has a British cast and crew it was produced by Indians. this is a pioneering venture in India.dejavu prefers to stay aloof from the category of Indian made English film , which usually deals with the problems of non resident indians, their disillusionment, loss of values and east west conflict.. dejavu , is meant the international audience which deals with the universal theme of loneliness and fear in a very unconventional manner.
